Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali 2025 in Kochi on India’s first indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant. He did this to recognize the bravery and dedication of the Indian Navy. During his speech, Prime Minister Modi praised the Navy’s excellent teamwork during Operation Sindoor, a recent combined mission with the Air Force and Coast Guard. The Prime Minister hailed the smooth coordination that made the mission a success, calling it “a testament to India’s growing maritime power and readiness.”

Modi stressed the need to celebrate Diwali with those who protect the country while marking the festival of lights with sailors and officers. He remarked, “Every light on this ship reflects the spirit of sacrifice and service.” He thanked all the soldiers who are away from their family during the holidays.

INS Vikrant, which was made as part of the “Make in India” program, is a proud emblem of India’s ability to make its own defense equipment. Modi said again that India’s defense industry is changing, and the country is becoming a bigger worldwide provider of high-tech military equipment.
The Prime Minister’s visit to INS Vikrant on Diwali mixed national pride with emotional thanks. It was a reminder that the best way to celebrate is to appreciate those who keep the peace in the country.
